Combining chocolate and stories into a colorful website
The project
This story-based website is part of a larger project that has many phases and developing areas. The main goal is to raise awareness about the touristic potential of the mountain area of county Arges, located in south-west Romania.
Users were expected to visit the website by scanning a QR-code displayed on the package of local-produced chocolate. The chocolate itself illustrates some characters from the local legends.
Our contribution
We were asked by the project owner, an NGO named Asociatia Vidraru (Vidraru Organization) to help them with the concept and the designs. We created both the chocolate package and the stories website design.
The choice of colors, shapes and icons was a bold one. We sought to illustrate into the website the feeling one has when eating chocolate.
We also integrated the local geomorphology. Since the area is famous for the mountainside and the accumulation lake, Vidraru - we created some illustrations with level curves and waves.
The website features just a few pages. The homepage offers a few stories titles, some information about the chocolate and a call-to-action. The main objective of the website is to inform the users, that are, most probably visiting the area, about the places and stories they can explore.
